The National Center for Health Statistics, the part of the CDC that keeps statistics on marriage, divorce and other life events, tried to measure how many of the health benefits of marriage also benefited men in cohabiting relationships. Answer: None, and in fact cohabiting men take worse care of themselves than truly single men.
